J.W. Bond is the founding attorney and a partner at Attorneys of Idaho. As a Boise criminal defense and personal injury attorney, he represents people facing criminal charges and those recovering after an accident. Before becoming a lawyer, J.W. worked as a police officer in Las Vegas. That experience gives him a practical understanding of how investigations begin, how officers document events, and where the evidence needs closer examination.
Born in California and raised in small-town Wyoming, J.W. built his career across the American West. He earned his J.D. from the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, in 2013 and is licensed in Idaho and Nevada. His background combines firsthand law-enforcement experience with years of courtroom advocacy and client representation.
In criminal cases, J.W. looks closely at the choices that shaped the investigation: why an officer initiated contact, how evidence was collected, whether procedures were followed, and whether the government can prove every required element. His practice includes DUI defense and a broad range of misdemeanor and felony matters. He gives clients a direct assessment of the case, a clear plan, and representation prepared for negotiation, motion practice, or trial.
J.W. also represents injured Idahoans. He understands that a personal injury case is not only about paperwork or an insurance claim; it is about the medical, financial, and personal disruption an accident causes. He works with the firm’s personal injury team to investigate what happened, document the full impact of the injury, and pursue fair compensation from the responsible parties and insurers.
J.W. is a member of the Idaho Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Super Lawyers selected him to the Rising Stars list for 2024 through 2026. Whatever the type of case, he believes clients deserve candid advice, responsive communication, and an advocate who understands what is at stake.
Outside the office, J.W. enjoys snowboarding, kayaking, playing cards, and spending time with his wife in Boise.
