Scott Brown

Scott Brown is a Boise criminal defense attorney at Attorneys of Idaho. Before entering private practice, he represented people at the Ada County Public Defender’s Office in cases ranging from misdemeanors to serious felonies. That experience taught him how the government builds a case, how to identify the issues that can change its direction, and how important clear counsel is to someone facing criminal charges.

Scott grew up just south of Atlanta, Georgia. His path to the law was unusually broad: he has been a monastic, a teacher and tutor, and a writer. Across each role, he developed the same habits he brings to criminal defense—careful listening, disciplined preparation, and a commitment to doing the right thing.

At the public defender’s office, Scott worked directly with Idahoans confronting the uncertainty and pressure of the criminal legal system. He learned to organize complex facts, test the government’s evidence, and build a defense theory that makes the important issues understandable to a judge or jury. That work led him to make criminal defense the focus of his career.

Scott’s current practice includes DUI defense and other misdemeanor and felony matters. He reviews discovery and timelines closely, identifies the issues that deserve immediate attention, and helps clients understand the risks and choices at each stage. When motion practice, negotiation, or trial is required, he prepares with the same methodical focus.

Scott believes every client deserves to be treated as a person rather than a case number. He works to provide thoughtful advice, honest expectations, and a clear plan while protecting the client’s rights, record, and future.

Outside the courtroom, Scott enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters, being outdoors, eating good food, and watching movies with his family. He is also a strength athlete, skier, and longtime reader of meditation and poetry.
