Preston, ID (April 14, 2024) – A motorcycle rider was killed on Saturday afternoon in Preston, Idaho, after a collision on a local highway. At 2:30 p.m., Idaho State Police officers were dispatched to U.S. Highway 91 at mile marker 13, approximately 40 miles from Cache County, in response to reports of a fatal collision.

According to authorities, a woman and man from Utah reportedly traveled northbound on the highway in a 2011 BMW X3 before making a turn and colliding with a 2009 Yamaha motorcycle, which was ridden by a 60-year-old man. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Per officers, both BMW passengers were not seriously hurt but were assessed by EMTs, and it is unknown whether they were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision, but an investigation is ongoing.
