Idaho Falls, ID (August 29, 2024) – Idaho State Police troopers, together with Idaho Falls police officers, said a man was killed in an early morning crash on Fremont Avenue under the U.S. Highway 20 bridge.

Idaho Falls Police said the incident took place south on Fremont at approximately 2:15 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, August 29.  Firefighters had to extricate one driver from their car, and that man was taken to the hospital, where he later died. Police said they believe speed is a factor in the cause of the incident but did not release further details on the number of vehicles or victims involved.

The road was closed for several hours so that emergency crews could clean up the accident. However, the crash remains under investigation in the meantime, and witnesses were asked to get in touch with area officers as soon as possible.
