Spencer, ID (July 24, 2024) – Idaho State Police troopers are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash on I-15 near milepost 179 in Spencer, per local authorities.
At around 10:50 a.m. on Monday, July 22, a 69-year-old man from Farr West was driving southbound on a Kawasaki motorcycle when he was apparently involved in a crash with at least one other passenger vehicle. The wreckage blocked the road’s southbound lanes for around four hours following the crash.

The accident is still under investigation by ISP, and no further details were released in the interim. Witnesses were asked to step forward in the meantime.
We extend our deepest condolences to the deceased woman’s family. Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
Motorcycle Collisions in Idaho
Over the previous several years alone, the Idaho Transportation Department documented roughly 1,700 motorcycle crashes that resulted in more than 100 deaths and 1,400 injuries. Unfortunately, motorcycle crashes can leave victims with serious, sometimes permanent injuries that affect them for the rest of their lives. And, all too often, motorcyclists lose their lives in these devastating crashes, leaving behind grieving families who must rebuild their lives.
Idaho determines culpability for monetary losses and damages stemming from motor vehicle crashes using the traditional fault-based method, which covers motorcycle incidents. In Idaho, comparative negligence is used to determine culpability in motorcycle accidents.
