Bear Lake County, ID (July 27, 2024) – Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to a fatal accident west of Montpelier. The two-vehicle crash was reported on Saturday, July 27, around 8:45 a.m.
According to the Idaho State Police, a 20-year-old woman from Blackfoot, Idaho, was driving a Chevy Spark southbound on U.S. Highway 89. Near milepost 24.5, her vehicle was involved in a crash with a GMC Terrain that was going northbound. One of the victims involved died at the scene a short time later, while a 35-year-old woman from Ovid, riding in one of the vehicles, was transported to a local hospital. The names of the individuals involved in the accident are not being released at this time, pending family members’ notification. An investigation is also ongoing and active in the meantime.
