Posted by Attorneys of Idaho | Oct 17, 2024 | 0 Comments

Treasure Valley, ID (October 17, 2024) – On Thursday morning, October 17, according to Idaho State Police, the driver of a vehicle allegedly hit a pedestrian along northbound Meridian Road, and two other cars were involved in the incident in an apparent chain-reaction collision.

The victim sustained significant injuries in the incident, which happened close to the Overland intersection around 7:00 a.m. EMS units rushed to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital, but their current condition remains unknown. It's also unclear if citations or charges are pending in the incident. In the meantime, an inquiry is ongoing and active, and witnesses were asked to step forward as soon as possible as the ISP handles the ongoing investigation.

Our thoughts are extended to the injured victims and their family members. We hope for their full recovery.

Pedestrian Accidents in Idaho

In Idaho, there is an increase in pedestrian accidents between pedestrians and moving vehicles like motorcycles, scooters, or automobiles. These incidents have the potential to be deadly or to result in serious harm to those involved. Put simply, a pedestrian accident occurs when a car, bike, or even scooter strikes a person on foot. The person on foot often takes the brunt of the hit since there is no buffer to protect them.

Even while it would appear clear to blame the car's driver, other people could also be at fault. For example, the manufacturer or the service provider may be held accountable if the vehicle has a mechanical breakdown. Holding local authorities responsible for issues like poorly lit roadways or insufficient maintenance is possible.

Pedestrian accidents may result in a variety of injuries. Typical injuries sustained in these incidents are as follows:

  • Head or brain injuries
  • Back or spinal injuries
  • Joint or muscle pain
  • Bone breaks and fractures
  • Superficial wounds and cuts, such as bruises

Due to their increased vulnerability, children and the elderly often sustain more serious injuries in these incidents, making the aftermath of these accidents even more difficult and frustrating to cope with. Thankfully, our knowledgeable pedestrian accident attorneys at Attorneys of Idaho are here to help and counsel you throughout the procedure, ensuring you know your rights and choices.
