Ririe, ID (September 17, 2024) – According to Idaho State Police troopers, a car crash resulted in a vehicle being submerged in a canal Sunday night west of Ririe. Per the ISP, as well as a press release from the Bonneville County Sheriff's Office, two juveniles were pulled from the car; one was deceased, and the other was being treated at a hospital.
The juveniles were attempting to turn east from 4500 East onto 145th North (North County Line Rd) when they were involved in a collision with a pickup pulling a boat driving west. Their car was struck on the driver's side and went into the canal. The accident was reported at 8:45 p.m. on Sunday. The Bonneville County Sheriff's Office, Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, Jefferson Central Fire, and Idaho Falls Ambulance responded. However, the crash is still under investigation by ISP, and any witnesses were asked to get in touch.
