Nampa, ID - Person of interest arrested in connection to Nampa shooting

On January 22, 2025 an alleged shooting occurred in Nampa, ID that resulted in one person being injured and two vehicles with bullet holes. The incident is still being investigated. 

 A person of interest was arrested on unrelated charges to the incident. The 22-year old male is currently being charged with Felony Flee or Attempt to Elude a Police Office in a Motor Vehicle, Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver, Felony Persistent Violator, Misdemeanor Drug Paraphernalia - Use or Posses with Intent to use, and Misdemeanor Arrests and Seizures - Resisting or Obstructing Officers.

 If found guilty and convicted on the following charges these are the penalties: 

Felony Flee or Attempt to Elude a Police Office in a Motor Vehicle – Under Idaho Statute 49-1404, “shall have his driving privileges suspended by the court for a minimum of one (1) year, which may extend to three (3) years, at the discretion of the court, during which time he shall have absolutely no driving privileges of any kind” (Idaho State Legislature). 

Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver – Under Idaho Statute 37-2732,  “may be imprisoned for a term of years not to exceed life imprisonment, or fined not more than twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000), or both” (Idaho State Legislature). 

Felony Persistent Violator – Under Idaho Statute 19-2514, “shall be sentenced to a term in the custody of the state board of correction which term shall be for not less than five (5) years and said term may extend to life” (Idaho State Legislature). 

Misdemeanor Drug Paraphernalia - Use or Posses with Intent to use – Under Idaho Statute 37-2734A, “ may be imprisoned for not more than one (1) year, fined not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000), or both” (Idaho State Legislature). 

Misdemeanor Arrests and Seizures - Resisting or Obstructing Officers – Under Idaho Statute 18-705, “when no other punishment is prescribed, is punishable by a fine not exceeding one thousand dollars ($1,000), and imprisonment in the county jail not exceeding one (1) year” (Idaho State Legislature).
