Declo, ID - Truck Driver Airlifted After Collision on I-84 at Ex 216

Posted by Attorneys of Idaho | Nov 16, 2024 | 0 Comments

Declo, ID (November 16, 2024) – At around 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 14, Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle crash near Declo.

A 21-year-old male from Carlsbad, California, was driving a 2013 Mazda CX-5. He exited eastbound I-84 at exit 216 and turned left onto southbound State Highway 77 to head towards Declo. The driver failed to yield to a semi driven by a 37-year-old male from Senora, Mexico, that was southbound on SH77. The semi swerved to miss the car, lost control, and went over the overpass.

The driver of the semi was transported by air ambulance to a local hospital a short time later, but his current condition remains unknown. No further details were released, and an investigation is still active, however.

Our thoughts are extended to the injured victim and her loved ones. We hope for her complete recovery.

Injury Auto Accidents in Idaho

Driving is a necessity for getting around most cities, particularly in Idaho. And like most motorists on our roadways, you want to reach your destination safely when you get behind the wheel. Regretfully, despite your best efforts to stay out of dangerous situations and to observe road rules, the actions of a reckless driver can result in your injuries and other losses. Whether you've been in an accident already or you simply want to be ready in case you are in the future, it's worthwhile to learn more about Idaho's laws regarding auto accidents.

For instance, personal injury protection insurance is not necessary in Idaho since the state does not have a no-fault insurance policy. You need to carry $25,000 in bodily injury coverage per person and $50,000 per accident, according to Idaho law. You also need to have a $15,000 property damage liability policy. However, Idaho is a fault-based insurance jurisdiction, so before submitting an insurance claim, you must establish who was liable for the collision in question.

For this reason and more, it's important that you work with a Declo auto accident lawyer for your case. In order to determine if the other driver acted negligently to cause your injury crash, your lawyer will look into what caused the incident, as well as the surrounding circumstances of the accident. At Attorneys of Idaho, we know what it takes to build a strong claim. Call (208) 314-8888 to schedule a free consultation with one of our Chubbuck auto accident lawyers if you'd like additional information.
