Carey, ID (January 15, 2025) – A tragic head-on collision on Tuesday afternoon resulted in the deaths of two individuals and left another seriously injured. The incident occurred shortly after 3 p.m. on US Highway 26/93, east of Fishcreek Reservoir Road near Carey.

Accident Details

According to the Blaine County Sheriff's Office, a silver 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 55 year old male, of Idaho Falls, was traveling southbound when it crossed the center line for unknown reasons. The vehicle collided head-on with a blue 2021 Toyota 4Runner, driven by a 62 year old female, of Kuna. A 38-year-old female passenger was also in the 4Runner.

Injuries and Fatalities

  • 55 year old male: Transported by ground ambulance but succumbed to his injuries en route.

  • 62 year old female: Pronounced deceased at the scene.

  • Female Passenger: Airlifted to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello with serious injuries; her current condition remains undisclosed.

Authorities confirmed that all occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision.
